What you might be thinking.
“Switching would be a mess.”
It is done in phases, the critical things first, so your people keep working.
“Maybe this is just what IT costs now.”
Add up a year of invoices and set a second price beside it. Then you know.
“We're locked in.”
Most contracts have a notice date. Find it, and you know your options.
“Our IT company was bought, and nobody told us what changes.”
Ask who your people will be, by name. If nobody can say, that is your answer.
Before you sign the renewal
- Find the notice date. Many IT contracts renew on their own unless you give notice by a date.
- Add up a year of invoices. The monthly price, plus the hours, the projects and the extras.
- Ask who your people will be. Names, not a department.
- Ask for your keys. The admin sign-ins, the domain and the backups, in the firm's name, whatever you decide.
Our agreement, in plain words
Ours renews too, and we say so up front. One year, or two years or more with the rate held for the whole term. Either side can end it with sixty days' written notice before it renews. Read how the agreement works before you sign anything.
Renew, or switch
- Renew, on better termsUse the list above to ask for them. Names, your keys in the firm's name, and one price with nothing on top.
- SwitchWe write down what is there with you, take over the keys in the firm's name, and the same people take it from there.
How it starts
Nothing changes until you have said yes.
- Thirty minutes with a real person. Tell us what is going on. You leave with an answer, whether or not it is us.
- A plan and a price, in writing. What we found, what we would do first, and what it costs.
- Then the same people take it from there. Your own small team, who know your office. One of them is the person you call.

We've had a great experience with Chris Bridges and his team. Protected Trust is always available when we need them and incredibly quick to respond.

Questions people ask
Plain answers.
How long does a switch take?
We do it in phases: the critical things first (the admin sign-ins, the domain, the backups and the security), then the rest as a written plan. Most switches take a few weeks, depending on how much there is.
Our contract has months left. Is it too early?
No. The best time to compare is before the notice date, not after it. If the notice date is only weeks away, call this week.
Who holds the admin sign-ins with you?
Your firm does. You keep your own working admin account in Microsoft 365, and the domain and the firewall stay in the firm's name.
Can we read your agreement first?
Yes. Here is how it works, and we send the agreement itself whenever you ask.
What if our current provider stalls on the handover?
The keys belong to the firm. With proof that the firm owns the accounts, Microsoft and your domain's registrar can return admin access. It can take a few weeks, so we start it on day one, and we do that work with you.
What does it cost?
$125 per person, per month, with security in every plan. No hours billed on top. Setup is $150 a person, with a $1,500 minimum. See what it costs.
