Compliance in Orlando: HIPAA, FTC Safeguards, CJIS

Know where the sensitive information is, control who can reach it, keep the records the rules require, and prove all of it when someone asks. For Orlando practices, firms and agencies, that is what compliance comes down to.

Who asks Orlando businesses to prove it

A dental or medical practice in Orlando answers to HIPAA. A CPA firm in Winter Park or downtown Orlando answers to the FTC Safeguards Rule and IRS Publication 4557, and the renewal of its cyber insurance asks the same questions in a different order. A law firm holds what its clients answer to. An agency or contractor that touches criminal justice data answers to CJIS. A shop that takes cards answers to PCI. Each of them, at some point, gets a questionnaire, an audit date or a client's security review, and each needs the same four things: to know where the sensitive information is, to control who reaches it, to keep the records the rule requires, and to show the proof.

What Security + Compliance puts in place

  • The records your rule requires, kept as long as it says, findable when a lawyer, an auditor or an insurer asks, and held when a matter is open.
  • Sensitive files labeled automatically and protected wherever they travel, with an alert when someone moves data they should not.
  • Protection on every computer that does not only block an attack but investigates it and undoes it; risky sign-ins stopped even when the password is right; administrator rights given only when needed, and reviewed.
  • An audit trail and reporting mapped to the framework you answer to, policy templates, and preparation when the audit date is on the calendar.

It covers everyone on your Orlando plan. Protecting half a practice leaves a gap, and auditors find gaps.

What we are, and what we work to

Protected Trust is SOC 2 compliant. For clients we work to HIPAA, PCI-DSS, GLBA, the FTC Safeguards Rule, IRS Publication 4557, CJIS and Florida's FIPA. The controls are in the plan for every Orlando client. A formal assessment against a framework, with a report an outside party will accept, is a project, scoped with you at the Orlando office and quoted before it starts.

What it costs in Orlando

Security + Compliance is an add-on to Complete at $30 per person, per month, plus the Microsoft licenses it requires. Every line is on the pricing page. The thirty-minute first conversation with Pedro, Bill or Leah is where we find out which rule you answer to and what the next audit or renewal will ask.

Questions people ask

Plain answers.

Will you do our HIPAA compliance for us?

We put the controls in place, keep the records and produce the proof. The policies and the formal assessment are a project we take you through. The responsibility stays with the practice, as the rule itself says.

Our cyber insurance renewal asks about multifactor authentication, backups and training. Can you answer it?

Yes, and the answers will be true, because those three are in every plan. The cyber insurance page explains how we handle the questionnaire with you.

Do we need Security + Compliance if we are a small Orlando practice?

If a rule applies to you, size does not excuse you from it, and the add-on is priced per person so a six-person practice pays for six. If no rule applies, Complete's security alone may be enough.
