Frequently Asked Questions

Overview

  • Who is the Surface Pro X designed for?

Surface Pro X is built from the ground up for connected productivity and will offer a productivity and mobility profile that pairs well in the commercial space.

Organizations already using modern management, security, and productivity solutions (Autopilot, Intune, Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection, Bitlocker, Microsoft Office 365) are well positioned to take advantage of the unique performance features in Surface Pro X. Customers who have modernized and simplified their line of business apps, integrated Microsoft store (UWP) apps, or utilize remote desktop solutions also stand to benefit. Examples include:

    • High end businesses. Mobile dominant, tech forward businesses across high end retail, high end hospitality and mobile sales reps will be delighted by its ultra-portability and graphic performance.
    • High-end professional services. High-end retail banking, professional services (legal, consulting), and the medical/healthcare industry are on the verge of adopting modern, cloud-based technologies but as of now they most likely require more robust legacy security features and physical dTPM encryption than Surface Pro X can offer today.
    • Education. Surface Pro X is well suited for the educational sector and higher education.

With Windows Autopilot as the recommended deployment option, Surface Pro X devices are well suited for small and medium sized businesses without large scale on-premises infrastructure.

  • Is there a version without LTE support?

No. Surface Pro X is designed to be an always on and always connected PC. All models support LTE connectivity.

  • What are the key differences between Surface Pro X and past Surface Pro iterations?

Surface Pro X is an evolution of the classic Surface Pro form factor.

It is the thinnest, lightest, most mobile Surface 2-in-1 yet with 13” edge-to-edge PixelSense™ display & LTE connectivity.
