If you are currently using a version of Outlook without the Elephant Outlook service, you may wish to backup your Outlook data files.  This backup/export will be used later to import into your account so that your current data will now be a part of Elephant Outlook.

Steps to backup/export your existing Outlook into a personal folder file (.pst) in Outlook 2007:

 

    1. Start Outlook > File > Import and Export
    2. Choose Export to a file and click Next.
    3. Choose Personal Folder File (.pst) and click Next.
  •  Select the top level folder you wish to backup. Usually this is the top most folders, Personal Folders.
    IMPORTANT – READ CAREFULLY
    It’s important to select all of your data from the top most folder and choose sub-folders
  • Check Include subfolders and click Next.
  • Choose a file location which you can recall later. Most people save to the desktop.
    Select Replace duplicates with items exported and click Finish.
  • Use defaults and click OK.
  • After complete, Exit and Close Outlook.
  • Export Complete! You now have a complete backup of your existing Outlook data.

    1. Start Outlook > File > Open > Import
    2. Choose Export to a file and click Next.
    3. Choose Personal Folder File (.pst) and click Next.
